Hello Neighbors,
I wanted to give everyone an update on happenings before our February 14th Meeting – while winter is typically quieter, we have been busy and making progress on several projects and tasks that are very time consuming but necessary to build a stronger association. Also, we had a great turnout Sunday, February 8th at our first Members’ Open House. The next one is April 4th.
Caretaker Work:
I am happy the previous Board made the decision to have a FT employee. I am very pleased with the initiative & quality of Tony’s work.
- I have received more Snow Plowing compliments – Tony’s response time and accuracy is great. With record setting snowfall, having a FT Caretaker is critical.
- The Clubhouse Basement is under construction & looking great. Past Secretaries didn’t want to work there, but we are making it an inviting, safe, organized, clean area / work environment so Warblers Secretaries don’t always have to work from their homes.
- The hallway was packed with clutter and junk. As mentioned at the prior Board Meeting, Tony & I went through the entire basement & identified Save vs. Trash and removed multiple truck loads of junk.
Secretary:
As noted at the last meeting, Chantel & I planned to organize the files, but after starting we both decided that we can wait until the basement is complete – we decided to go after past owed monies and organize Quickbooks.
- Chantel & I have now met three times (Robin our former Secretary joined our first meeting to help us too) for hours each time sorting through Dues / Monies owed. Chantel organized Quickbooks for better visibility and is sending Past Due notices soon.
- Chantel went to the County Building and met with Kate, the Crawford County Treasurer to better understand Tax-Sales and getting what is owed to Warblers. Also inquired about Liens and finding the best way to get people to pay.
Budget Committee:
This will be posted in the Newsletter & on Facebook to see what interest there is from Members. Sign-up by April 1st and meet 3-ish times over the summer. I hope the Committee can present their findings & suggestions in our August Board Meeting.
- We’ve had two Special Assessments in the past 6 years (2019 & 2025) – Hopefully the Committee can find alternative ways or ideas.
Big Orange Plow Truck:
This truck drivetrain runs great but it is not street legal. We are looking into costs for repair.
Stay warm out there!
